OUR VALUES
Safety
Nothing is more important than the health, safety, and well-being of every person in our care. Every member of our team makes it their personal responsibility to ensure 24/7 safety through strict adherence to our safety-first policies, procedures, and practices.

We respect the feelings, wishes, rights, and individuality of every resident. We nurture self-confidence and independence, and we never underestimate a resident's abilities, hopes, or capacity to live a full life.
Quality of Life
Our goal is not simply to meet basic needs. We are here to nourish the whole person. That means ensuring access to enriching vocational activities that build skills and provide purpose, programs that foster independence in daily living, opportunities for physical fitness and social connection, and access to services and providers to meet their unique needs.
OUR MODEL
Higher Ground Housing will operate as a structured, professionally managed independent living model.
Our team will consist of a Residential Director who oversees all aspects of daily life and program delivery, supported by Direct Support Professionals who provide hands-on daily support.
The team will function as a unit. The Residential Director and Direct Support Professionals will work seamlessly together, each bringing their own expertise and each committed to the same goal: supporting a resident's independence, growth, and quality of life.
What that model looks like day to day: community outings and social engagement, vocational and creative programming, physical fitness and healthy living, functional academics and daily living skills, and consistent access to healthcare and professional service providers.
This is not a static care arrangement. It is a dynamic, active, and highly intentional approach to supported independent living.
